Requirements
Requirements for New National Patent Appln:
- A Power of Attorney legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- A deed of assignment legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- An extract of the entry of the applicant company in the commercial register, or a copy of the certificate of incorporation (to be legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate at you end).
* These documents can be late filed, provided that being submitted within (4) months from the Egyptian filing date.
- The name, address, nationality of the applicant(s) and the inventor(s).
- The specification in English or French for preparing the Arabic translation. The specification must be subdivided as follows:
a. Prior art,
b. Drawbacks of the prior art,
c. What is new about the invention (improvements),
d. Detailed description,
e. Mode of exploitation of the invention,
- A summary of the invention (abstract) in English and Arabic.
- One clear set of the formal drawings.
* These items must be submitted with the application; late filing of the same is not possible
A certified copy of the priority document if claimed (which can be late filed provided that being submitted within three months from the application's filing date in Egypt).
Arabic translation of the patent's specifications (which can be late filed provided that being submitted within six months from the application's filing date in Egypt)
Requirements for national phase PCT Appln:
- A Power of Attorney legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- The name, address, nationality of the applicant(s) and the inventor(s).
- The specification in English or French for preparing the Arabic translation. The specification must be subdivided as follows:
a. Prior art,
b. Drawbacks of the prior art,
c. What is new about the invention (improvements),
d. Detailed description,
e. Mode of exploitation of the invention,
- A summary of the invention (abstract) in English and Arabic.
- Arabic translation of the patent's specifications (which can be late filed provided that being submitted within six months from the application's filing date in Egypt)
Recordal of Assignment:
- An original Power of Attorney signed by the assignee and legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- An original extract of the entry of the assignee company in the commercial register, or a certified copy of the certificate of incorporation legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- An original legalized deed of assignment duly signed by both: the assignor(s) to the assignee(s).
Recordal of Merger:
- An original Power of Attorney signed by the assignee and legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- An original extract of the entry of the surviving company in the commercial register, or a certified copy of the certificate of incorporation legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- An original legalized merger documents duly signed by the concerned parties.
Recordal of License Agreement:
- An original license agreement, legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- An original extract of the entry of the licensee company in the commercial register, or a copy of the certificate of incorporation legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
Recordal of Change of Name/Address:
- An original Power of Attorney legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
- An original change of name and/or address certificate attesting to the subject change, legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate.
