Procedure
- Egypt is a member of the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works. (since July 7th 1977)
Procedures
- First, and in order for a copyright protection to be effective, the work of art is to be original and includes personal efforts, innovation and new arrangement.
- We proceed with the filing of the original copyrightable work, there is a separate governmental authority for each type of work, as follows:
- Literal works, to be filed at the Egyptian National Library.
- Artistic works, to be filed at the National Library of Arts in Egypt.
- Computer Software and programs, to be filed
at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
- Within three days as an approximate time-line, we receive a registration number and receipt from the concerned authorities for the subject work (which is then became a copyrighted work).
